Grevinna

Grevinna is a local gothic, metal, chip-tune band from Sandnes. The brief asked for a vinyl design for their first album. They have a strong, yet small fan base.

To allude to their gothic and chip-tune parts of their brand, I decided to create a pixel-art based illustration. It's inspired by early 2000's indie horror games, such as Yume nikki. It's horizontal lines creates tension, and the black area to the left of the cover feel like a place you are not supposer to be. Like you're out of bounds. When you open the Album, you get hit by two massive eyes staring at you. This simulates a jump scare.

Their logo uses a gothic typeface with glitching. This shows off both music genres, and breaks up the monotonous lines of the n's.
